Thu, September 1, 4:00 to 5:30pm
Widespread anxieties about the capacity of democracies to solve important problems in the public interest are at last receiving attention from political scientists. But what approaches are the most fruitful? This roundtable offers a birds-eye view of the latest research and strategies applied to the diagnosis of democratic dysfunctions, and the latest research veins being pursued to assuage them. Eminent scholars serving as advisors to the Social Science Research Council’s new ‘Anxieties of Democracy program’ will feature their latest perspectives in conversation with SSRC President Ira Katznelson.
