Wednesday, September 2, 1:30-5:30 p.m.

How are scholars approaching research about questions that concern federalism and intergovernmental systems? How are questions conceptualized? How arethe-state-of-the-field studies designed? What types of measures are used? How are variables being constructed? What types of analytical tools are being used? What new (or existing) data sources hold promise? What are the benefits and limitations of particular design and measurement strategies? What are the emerging questions in the field, and how are these being tackled? This session focuses on the state of the art in the field of federalism and intergovernmental relations research, bringing together a series of panelists to explore these and related questions. New and returning scholars in the field are especially welcome.
