Alesha Lewis, Southwestern University
Alesha Lewis is a junior at Southwestern University majoring in political science and psychology. She works as a research assistant for the political science department studying the role of place-based identity in political behavior. She is a recipient of the Bishop Ernest T. Dixon Scholar Award, was named on the Dean’s List and will be graduating with “paideia with distinction” next spring after completing a series of academic experiences, engagement with the community, and teaching part of a class to her peers on the interconnectedness of academic disciplines. Her research interests include voting behavior, political participation and civil discourse. After graduation, she plans to pursue a doctorate in political science with a concentration in political psychology and become a prominent research analyst.
