Call for Applications: Apply Now for the 2026 Institute for Qualitative and Multi-Method Research (IQMR)

The American Political Science Association (APSA) is pleased to announce a call for applications for early-career scholars based in Arab MENA countries who are interested in attending the 2026 Institute for Qualitative and Multi-Method Research (IQMR). APSA and IQMR will support up to three MENA scholars to attend the forthcoming IQMR, held at the Maxwell School of Syracuse University, from June 14 to June 26, 2026.
The institute trains researchers to create and critique methodologically sophisticated qualitative research designs, including case studies, tests of necessity or sufficiency, and narrative or interpretive work. It explores the techniques, uses, strengths, and limitations of these methods, while emphasizing their relationships with alternative approaches. Attendees will present and receive constructive feedback on their own research plans and designs.
Invited scholars will be supported to attend the institute through a full waiver of participation fees, and provided with roundtrip economy-class airfare, accommodation, and a per diem to support expenditures.
