APSA’s Green Initiative: A $4K Boost for Forest Conservation

APSA included a donation option on our 2023 Annual Meeting & Exhibition registration form to help offset the effect travel has on climate change.  We are pleased to report that our community made a contribution to the National Forest Foundation (NFF), a nonprofit organization chartered by Congress that is working to conserve our National Forests and Grasslands.

APSA Annual Meeting participants collectively donated $4,080, symbolizing a joint effort to offset the environmental impact of travel.

APSA would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to this initiative.  Our donation underscores the APSA community’s commitment to environmental sustainability and will play a crucial role in supporting the NFF’s ambitious goal of planting 50 million trees.

Beyond its monetary value, this effort sets a positive precedent, emphasizing the importance of sustainability in academic and professional communities.  By creating avenues for participants to contribute to environmental causes, institutions can foster a culture of responsibility and awareness, amplifying the collective impact of individual actions.
