One of the many important roles of the American Political Science Association (APSA) is recognizing excellence in the political science profession. The APSA makes awards for the best dissertations, papers and articles, and books in the various subfields, and for career achievement in research, teaching and service to the discipline. These awards will be presented at the 2020 APSA Annual Meeting in San Francisco, CA.
The Carey McWilliams Award honors a major journalistic contribution to our understanding of politics. The award is presented at the APSA Annual Meeting and carries a cash prize of $750. Submit a nomination here!
About the 2019 Award Recipient
Ariel Edwards-Levy is the polling editor and a staff reporter at HuffPost, where she covers politics and public opinion. She runs HuffPost’s partnership with the polling firm YouGov, fielding daily surveys with a focus on how Americans consume the news and react to current events. She also writes about the changing polling industry. Previously, she worked as HuffPost’s associate polling editor during the 2012 and 2014 elections, tracking the polling on races across the country and co-writing the HuffPost Pollster newsletter. She is a graduate of the University of Southern California.
