Accountability by Numbers: A New Global Transitional Justice Dataset (1946-2016)

Transitional justice—how democracies recovering from authoritarianism or civil war deal with members and collaborators of former oppressive regimes—is believed to have long-term effects on the quality of democracy. We introduce a new global dataset of transitional justice and show how it can be used to explore important questions of accountability and quality of democratic representation.
