PS Journal Announces New Publication Opportunity, “From the Sections”

PS: Political Science and Politics is excited to announce a new publication opportunity for scholars in our profession, “From the Sections.”

Our intention with creating this section is to provide a broader outlet for the excellent content that has been appearing in many of the organized section newsletters and which merits wider dissemination among our membership.

The first “From the Sections” articles will appear in the April 2016 issue.  We are featuring an article on Institutional Research Boards by Dvora Yanow and Peregrine Schwartz-Shea that first appeared in the Qualitative and Multi-Method Research (QMMR) Newsletter and an article on journal replication by Nicholas Eubank that first appeared in the Political Methodology Newsletter.

We are excited about this new section, but it cannot succeed without content.  We hope each of you will share with us an article from your section newsletter that merits publication in PS. We anticipate publishing two to three articles per issue, or 8-12 annually.

We invite you to nominate articles for consideration for this new section of PS.  Please email suggestions and nominations to the editors (ps@apsanet.org) or the journal manager (cszymanski@apsanet.org).

In terms of peer-review, because articles for this section have previously appeared in section newsletters, we have developed a single-blinded peer review system for these articles.  We also are leaning on our editorial board to help evaluate this content.

If you have any questions, concerns, comments, and of course nominations, please ontact us.
