Dr. Janni Aragon named the Director Technology Integrated Learning at the University of Victoria

Dr. Janni Aragon was named the Director Technology Integrated Learning at the University of Victoria in British Columbia, Canada. This position, reporting to the AVP Academic Planning, was developed in response to the Cross-Institutional Review of Educational Technology.Janni-Photo  It is designed to facilitate the integration of technological innovations in support of excellence in learning and teaching, and is part of a larger reorganization of educational technology support within the University. Dr. Aragon is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Political Science, with teaching experience at UVic since 2005.  In 2013 she was the recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award from the Faculty of Social Sciences.  She currently serves as the Chair of the Senate Committee on Learning and Teaching.  She has extensive experience with integrating technology with pedagogy, in integrating social media and other Web 2.0 tools in the face-to-face and virtual classroom, and with innovation in online learning and open access.  In her role as Acting Director Technology Integrated Learning, she will work closely with staff, faculty, librarians, and students, and with academic and support units across the university.
