Apply for an APSA Centennial Center Research Grant, Applications due June 15

The Centennial Center for Political Science and Public Affairs offers thirteen different grants to assist APSA members with the costs of research, including travel, interviews, access to archives, or costs for a research assistant. Funds can also be used to assist scholars in publishing their research.

Each grant fund has a unique set of aims, including supporting international scholarship, electoral scholarship, and scholarship on race and gender. See below for detailed information about individual grant aims. The typical Centennial Center grant for an individual scholar is between $1,000 and $2,500, but awards can reach a maximum size of $10,000 for workshops, events, or projects that more broadly support or advance the discipline.

The Centennial Center, its facilities, and research support programs continue to be made possible in part through the generous donations of APSA members. It also offers a wide selection of funds, each supporting a different, specific research purpose. The Centennial Center reviews grant applications in June and December of each year. The next application deadline is: Friday, June 15, 2018.

Indirect costs (using grant funds for rent or overhead) and fringe benefits are not covered by a Centennial Center research grant. If you have questions about what a grant covers, please contact the Centennial Center team before applying at centennial@apsanet.org.
