Apply for the APSA 2018 Ralph Bunche Summer Institute (RBSI) by January 19th

Angie Torres is a student at the University of Central Florida (UCF) in Orlando, Florida, majoring in international and global studies with a minor in global peace and security studies. Her research interests focus on gender studies, international security, and developing nations. Angie currently serves on the Vice President’s Student Advisory Council and is a CREAR Futuros Peer Mentor, a program supported by the Hispanic Federation that focuses on promoting Hispanic student success, along with three other organizations on campus. In her spare time, Angie teaches students in her community as a substitute teacher.

About the RBSI Program
The RBSI is an annual, intensive five-week program held at Duke University. It is designed to introduce to the world of doctoral study in political science those undergraduate students from under-represented racial and ethnic groups or those interested in broadening participation in political science and pursuing scholarship on issues affecting under-represented groups. Participants in the RBSI are drawn from a competitive national applicant pool. The RBSI Selection Committee reviews applications and makes decisions during the month of February.
